Online talk and Q&A with author Ela Lee on her book Jaded [Past event]

Book content themes: sexual assault and violence
Jaded is a powerful novel, and demonstrates the importance and critical role of storytelling. Jaded is the novel that lets us linger and explore the spaces following sexual violence, and how as individuals, and as groups - groups of friends, colleagues, family - we might begin to deal with the aftermath. It’s a nuanced and heartbreaking read for how well it deals with the core issues, whilst simultaneously illustrating the intersections of class, race and sexism.
We recommend that readers finish the book to make the most out of this conversation, as there will be inadvertent spoilers during the chat. Maintaining a safe space for this talk will be prioritised, and therefore the meeting will involve a hosted conversation with Ela, followed by Q&A from the audience through typed questions. We will not be discussing personal stories, and cameras and mics for the audience will not be enabled.
